Wispr Flow for Windows: does it exist?
Last updated 21 October 2026.
Yes. Wispr Flow has had a Windows app since March 2025, and it runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. You install it from wisprflow.ai, create an account and dictate into any app with a hotkey, the same way Mac users do.
We make Lispr, one of the alternatives on this page, so we list a limitation for every app, ours included.
What Wispr Flow does on Windows
Wispr Flow runs from the system tray. Hold the hotkey, speak and release, and the text lands at your cursor in Outlook, Slack, a browser tab or VS Code. A small Flow Bar shows when it's listening, and a separate window called the Hub keeps your history, dictionary, snippets and settings.
Your audio goes to Wispr's servers for transcription. Before the text reaches your cursor, Wispr Flow cleans it up: it drops filler words, repairs false starts, adds punctuation and matches the tone to the app you're in. Your dictionary and settings follow you across Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android under one account.
What Wispr Flow costs on Windows
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | 2,000 words a week on desktop |
| Pro | $15 a month, or $144 a year | Unlimited words, plus Command Mode for editing selected text by voice |
New accounts start with a 14-day Pro trial and no card. One Pro subscription covers every device you sign in on, so Windows costs nothing extra. Teams and companies have their own plans.
People talk at roughly 130 words a minute, so the free 2,000 words last about 15 minutes of speaking a week.
Where Wispr Flow falls short on Windows
- Transcription runs in the cloud, so you need an internet connection to dictate.
- You have to create an account before your first dictation.
- Wispr doesn't officially support Windows on ARM, and warns that the app may not work correctly on a Snapdragon laptop.
- If you dictate every day, the free plan runs out early in the week.
Wispr Flow holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, which helps if your IT team has to approve the software you install. It also has apps for iPhone and Android, so one account covers your phone.

| Windows voice typing (Win+H) | 10 and 11 | Free, built in | Microsoft's online speech service | Part of Windows | Needs internet; most PCs get a plain transcript with no cleanup |
| Windows Voice Access | 11, version 22H2 or later | Free, built in | On your PC, works offline | Part of Windows | Windows 11 only; fewer languages than voice typing |
| Dragon Professional v16 | 10 and 11 | About $700, one-time | On your PC | Perpetual license | Price; no major release since 2023 |

| Handy | 10 and 11, x64 | Free | On your PC | Open source (MIT) | Whisper models want a graphics card and crash on some Windows setups |
Superwhisper comes closest to Wispr Flow's polished output, and its one-time license covers both Mac and Windows. If you want to run Windows by voice, opening apps and clicking buttons, use Voice Access, free on Windows 11, or Dragon: Lispr, Wispr Flow and Superwhisper type text and leave the rest of the PC to you. For a few sentences a day, Win+H costs nothing and is already installed.
Lispr on Windows
Lispr sits in the Windows system tray. Hold right Ctrl, speak, and your words appear at the cursor when you release the key; you can pick another key in settings. It runs on Windows 10 and later, and the installer is about 14 MB and code-signed, with Codebridge Technology, Inc. as the verified publisher.
The free plan gives you 60 minutes of dictation a week, reset every Monday. You don't need an account or a card, and the free plan includes every feature, AI formatting too. Pro costs $79 a year or $7.99 a month, removes the weekly cap and signs in with an email code.
Transcription runs on hosted Whisper large-v3-turbo, with a median of 346 ms from key release to text. Lispr understands about 99 languages and keeps up when you switch language mid-sentence. Hold a translation key together with the dictation key, and the translation lands at your cursor instead, in any of 32 languages. Formatting has three modes in Settings: Off inserts your words as you said them, Light adds punctuation, paragraphs and lists, and Concise also strips filler words and repeats.
Lispr needs an internet connection, it has no voice commands for controlling Windows, and it has no phone app.
